Oyo Lawmaker, Fowokanmi, To Empower Constituents, Party Members, Others

In line with his campaign promises to give back to the people of his constituency, the lawmaker representing Ibadan South West state constituency two in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Oluwafowokanmi Oluwafemi Adebayo has completed arrangements to empower his people.

The programme, tagged ‘Better Life Empowerment’ will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Baptist Secondary School, Liberty Road, Ibadan by 11am.

According to the lawmaker, the event will witness presentation of working equipment to graduates of the skill acquisition programmes, financial support, presentation of various empowerment equipment to the constituents, party leaders, executive and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the six wards that made up the constituency.

Hon. Fowokanmi said that the skill acquisition programmes include tailoring, hairdressing, catering, barbing and make-up. He added that all the 70 graduates of the skill acquisition programmes will collect equipment that is associated with the training they undergone.

He listed some of the items to be distributed at the event to include sewing machines, hairdresser standing dryers, baking oven and camp cylinders, make-up kit bag, generators and pepper grinding machines.

The lawmaker, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Education, said that there would also be traders’ capital empowerment cash for about 60 women at the event.

Hon. Fowokanmi stated that the programme is another opportunity to reach out to the people in his constituency and appreciate them for their support and cooperation so far.

The lawmaker had not long ago constructed and commissioned a bridge linking communities in Elewura and Bolumole Challenge areas of the constituency.

Hon. Fowokanmi, who have moved various motions targeted towards development of his constituency and Oyo State at large, has also facilitated job opportunities especially in the government circle including the TESCOM and Amotekun corps for the qualified youths in his constituency.
